What is a body count? No, its not the amount of body's you have hidden in your back garden. Its new terminology for the number of people a person has had sex with.
Is body count important? Well I guess it depend who your talking to, what their upbringing is, what influences they have around in their lives. A persons number of sexual partners can be very important to some people and very unimportant to other people.
If you want my humble opinion, then no it isn't important. Whether somebody is a virgin or has slept with everyone within a 10 mile radius, a persons sex life and sexuality does not define who they are as a human being.
I think there is a lot of stigma in society about sex in general and everybody seems to have an opinion about what people should and shouldn't be doing with their own bodies. But what someone does with their own body is their own business. Its not for anyone else to decide. Everyone has their own values and beliefs and as long as they aren't causing harm to themselves or others, and everything they are doing is consensual then I don't believe its anyone's business really.
Some people are a-sexual and have no interest in sex at all and that is also completely normal and okay.
I think we live in a society where sex is constantly pushed on us, via advertising, movies, social media etc.. We are constantly fed mixed messages about what we should and shouldn't be doing.
The reality of the matter is, there is no right or wrong when it comes to sex. You can have as much or a little as you want and there is nothing wrong with either of those choices. Anyone who makes you feel bad about your choices, just remember that it is coming from a place of their own inner feelings of inadequacy and shame, and it is nothing to do with you and your decisions.
So to answer my initial question. Body count is only as important as you want it to be. But that is something personal for you to decide and isn't the same for everyone else.
